The cowrie belt sits at the waist and is the single most interesting element in a set that has a lot going on. The cape falls from the shoulders to mid-thigh. Crafted in Jaipur with the block-printing and embroidery traditions of Rajasthan. The heavy embroidery on the crop top uses thread and possibly mirror workmirror workSmall mirrors stitched into fabric — the signature embellishment of Kutch and Gujarat. — teal blue georgette responds particularly well to multi-technique embellishment because the depth of the colour doesn't flatten under embellishment the way lighter tones can. The cowrie belt is hand-assembled.
