The craft
Sequin. Made by hand.
Gold lace is appliquéd rather than woven or embroidered — cut and stitched onto the velvet base, which is why the lace sits slightly raised against the fabric rather than blending flat into it. The sequin dupatta is a separate, lighter construction, giving the whole outfit two distinct textures instead of one uniform sheen.

Designed in Melbourne. Cut and finished in our Patel Nagar workshop — twenty craftspeople, nineteen years together. Banarasi, Bandhani, Chikankari, and Phulkari pieces come from partner sources in their home clusters.
