A multi-day wedding invites you to solve the same problem three times, and most people solve it by buying three outfits of roughly equal weight. That is the expensive way and usually the least satisfying.
The events are not equivalent. A mehendi is long, informal, frequently outdoors and involves sitting still while someone works on your hands. A sangeet is the one where you will dance. A reception is formal, seated, and photographed.
Spend according to that. The mehendi wants the lightest, most comfortable thing you own and genuinely does not reward a heavy piece — you will be sitting with wet henna for two hours. An anarkali or a light kurta set is doing exactly the right job.
The sangeet is where the sharara earns its place, for the reason it always does: you can move in it without managing it.
The reception is the one to spend on, because it is the one that is photographed most and remembered longest.
